Privacy Policy
Last updated: 4 September 2026
This policy explains what Local Yard Pros collects when you fill in one of our forms, what we do with it, and the choices you have. It is written to be read, not skimmed past.
1. Who we are
Local Yard Pros (“Local Yard Pros,” “we,” “us”) operates the advertising and lead forms described in this policy and is the party responsible for the personal information collected through them.
We advertise on Meta platforms (Facebook and Instagram), Nextdoor and LinkedIn, and connect homeowners who are looking for landscaping and outdoor work with independent contractors who provide it.
2. What we collect
Nearly everything we hold about you is information you typed into a form yourself. We collect it through lead forms hosted on Meta (Facebook and Instagram Lead Ads), Nextdoor, and LinkedIn Lead Gen Forms, and through forms on our own website.
| Your name | So the contractor knows who they are calling. |
|---|---|
| Phone number | The main way you will be contacted. See section 5. |
| Email address | Where provided, used for follow-up. |
| ZIP or postal code | To match you with a contractor who serves your area. |
| Service interest | The type of work you are asking about — turf, pavers, landscaping and so on. |
| Budget range | Where a form asks it, so you are matched with a contractor who works at that level. |
| Project details | Anything you write in a free-text box. Please do not include sensitive personal information here. |
We also receive limited technical information automatically — the advertising platform the form came from, the campaign it belonged to, and the date and time you submitted it.
We do not ask for and do not want your Social Security number, financial account details, government identification numbers, or health information. Please do not send them to us.
3. How we use it
- To match your request with an independent contractor serving your area.
- To pass your details to that contractor so they can contact you.
- To contact you ourselves by phone, text or email about your enquiry.
- To keep records of the introductions we have made and to bill contractors for them.
- To measure how our advertising performs, in aggregate.
- To detect duplicate, invalid or fraudulent submissions.
- To meet our legal and record-keeping obligations.
4. Who we share it with
Independent contractors
As set out at the top of this policy, this is the core of what we do. Your name, phone number, email address where given, ZIP code, service interest and project details are provided to a home-services contractor who pays us for the introduction. They contact you directly and become responsible for your information from that point.
Under some state privacy laws, providing your information to a contractor in exchange for payment may be treated as a “sale” or “sharing” of personal information. If you live in a state that gives you the right to opt out of that, you can exercise it using the contact details in section 11, and we will honour it.
Service providers
We use a small number of vendors that process information strictly on our instructions: the advertising platforms that host our forms (Meta, Nextdoor, LinkedIn), our messaging provider Twilio, our hosting provider, and our email provider. They may not use your information for their own purposes.
Legal
We may disclose information where the law requires it, to respond to lawful requests from public authorities, or to protect our rights, safety or property. If our business is sold or merged, your information may transfer as part of that transaction.
We do not sell your information to data brokers, list vendors or advertising networks.
5. Phone calls and text messages
By submitting a form with your phone number, you agree that Local Yard Pros and the matched contractor may contact you at that number by phone call and text message (SMS), including with an automatic telephone dialing system where applicable, about your enquiry. Consent is not a condition of any purchase.
Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP at any time to opt out of text messages from us, or HELP for help. Opting out of our messages does not automatically opt you out of messages from the contractor — you will need to tell them separately.
Our text messages are sent using Twilio. Standard carrier terms apply, and carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
6. Cookies and analytics
This website is a set of static pages. It does not set advertising cookies, does not run third-party analytics, and does not track you across other sites.
Forms hosted on Meta, Nextdoor and LinkedIn are governed by those platforms’ own privacy policies and cookie practices while you are on them. Our advertising on those platforms is measured using their built-in reporting, which is provided to us in aggregate.
7. How long we keep it
We keep enquiry records for 24 months from the date you submit them, so we can evidence the introduction we made, resolve billing questions with contractors, and handle disputes. After that we delete them or strip them of anything that identifies you.
If you ask us to delete your information sooner, we will do so, except where we are required to keep a limited record to comply with the law or to honour an opt-out request you have made.
Deleting your information from our systems does not delete it from the contractor’s systems. You will need to contact them directly for that.
8. Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Ask what personal information we hold about you and get a copy of it.
- Ask us to correct information that is wrong.
- Ask us to delete your information.
- Opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information, as described in section 4.
- Not be discriminated against for exercising any of these rights.
To make a request, contact us using the details in section 11 and tell us what you would like us to do. We will need to verify your identity before we act — usually by confirming details of the enquiry you submitted. We aim to respond within 45 days.
You can also ask us to stop contacting you at any time, and we will.
9. Children
Our services are for adults arranging work on a property. They are not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has submitted information to us, contact us and we will delete it.
10. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will post the updated version on this page and change the “Last updated” date at the top. Where the change materially affects how we handle information already collected from you, we will take reasonable steps to tell you directly.
11. How to contact us
For any privacy question, or to make a request under section 8:
Please put “Privacy request” in the subject line so it reaches the right person quickly.
